If May was for the boldest of bold lips, June was all about soft petal pinks. I did a complete 180 (okay, I was too busy to worry about reapplying something like NARS Schiap), but was still as noncommittal about choosing one lipstick.
I went through a similar phase last winter and wore a ton of Too Faced and Urban Decay topped with Buxom glosses. This time around I opted for only lipstick.
I used to think I couldn’t wear soft pinks because of my medium skin tone. I was certain they were only for fair girls. Whoa, I’ve been missing out! I still don’t gravitate toward cotton candy shades, but these five are solid choices.
Coming off more red when photographed (because of it’s sheerness…my lips are naturally quite pigmented), Mayflower is much softer in person. And the tiny silver sparkles make my lips appear glossy and full. A total win.
Captioning that was so not easy. Of course I wanted to clarify the “Naked” because Urban Decay way overuses it. But things got awkward.

Has anyone not tried Fig yet? I’m pretty sure I’m the last blogger alive to get around to it. At first I was like, “Oooo, that’s pretty!” So I put it on right after buying it and I was like, “Oooo, that’s too blue….” But it’s really grown on me. Not to mention the awesome condition of my lips after a day of wearing it.
Sheer lipsticks are always the best way to ease into a color family and Sonia Kashuk’s Pink Lust is proof of that. I love every shade I’ve tried from the Shine Luxe line.
If you’ve ever had issues with matte lipstick, try the NARS Pure Matte formula. Bangkok is my first and rest assured it won’t be my last. So unbelievably comfortable to wear. Bonus points that matte formulas stay on longer.
What are some of your favorite soft pinks?
