It’s summer, it’s summer, it’s summer! And I am bursting at the seams with excitement over an eyeshadow I recently purchased. Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eye Shadow in Petals to the Metal is the perfect shade for summer.

Its dirty bronze base with electric blue reflects makes it ideal for anyone looking to wear a pop of this summer’s aqua without going overboard. The uniqueness of the shade made it a must-have in my collection…a rarity for a single eyeshadow as only a handful of others are also individuals.

The coloring of the shadow is entirely dependent on movement and lighting and capturing the a full blue color took some time.  The iridescence makes this perfect for a sophisticated wear of a vibrant summer color.

The opacity of application also determines the quantity of blue visible in the eyeshadow.  To the left you can see a full swatch and to the right is a thin blended out layer that only shows iridescence in movement.  Applying with a fluffy brush will give the softest appearance and works well for days out.  Using the Too Faced Lid/Smoker Brush gives anywhere from a moderate to full effect.

Built up further and with black eyeliner added, Petals to the Metal creates a stunning smokey eye with no other eyeshadows needed.

How would you wear Petals to the Metal?  Which eyeshadow do you anticipate using most this summer?
