Too Faced has been bringing it with the eyeshadow palettes lately…Rock N Roll, Cat Eyes, and now Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar are/were all on my list. But Too Faced Cat Eyes won out for the first buy for my collection during an obsession with vibrant purples and soft sparkling mints.
The swatches themselves are admittedly unimpressive. The powders just aren’t working when applied with my fingers. The shadow/liners in particular were lacking.
Applied wet Leopard and Jungle Love are much smoother, but Panther is still lacking in opacity. But as we all know, the real test comes on application with brushes and blending into a full look.
I used practically every color in the palette to get a feel for how each eyeshadow works and had much better results. Here’s how to get this look…
Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Begin with Purr very lightly from lashes to brows as a base. Blend Tiger’s Eye into the crease. Pat Jungle Love (wet) all over the outer half of the lid and lightly at the inner 1/3, leaving the center mostly bare. Use Pussy Cat on a small blending blush to bring vibrant color to the very inner part of the mobile lid and crease. Pat Kitty Glitter onto the center of the lids. Run Leopard (wet) at the lower lashes with a pencil brush. Then use it dry to blend out the edge. Finish with Purr right under the tear duct. Run Perfect Brown Eyeliner over the lower waterline and Perfect Black on the upper. Highlight the brow bone with Meow, use liquid liner for a winged look, and load on the mascara.
The rest of this look was kept fresh with glowing skin, minimal contouring and pink lips and cheeks.
The wet/dry formula is not the best quality I have tried, but overall this is a fun palette to have. The top row has shades for every day while the remainder is fun to add on for nights and weekends.
