The amount of time it took for me to do this post is absurd. Between not having light to snap a picture and the number of other posts I wanted to get up first, these empties were hanging out for far too long!
from left to right…
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Cleanser and Toner
This is the best working cleanser I’ve used in a long time. It cleans deep into my pores, it’s gentle yet very effective, lathers really well, leaves my skin soft, and is low cost. I also really liked the toner, though it occasionally left me feeling the tiniest bit dry. I have two other toners that are half-way finished and I plan to use those up before deciding if I’ll repurchase this one. I reviewed both of these products in my Skin Care Diary (Part 1 and 2) and plan to do a wrap-up post as well.
Sonia Kashuk Barely There Loose Powder – Colorless Matte
I can’t believe I finished this powder! Simply put, this is a finely milled powder that isn’t visible on skin and is perfect for setting makeup all over the face. I am not repurchasing until I finish up other powders on hand.
Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Transparent Mattifier
This is the second bottle I’ve finished since April. I wear it every day. Enough said! (Unless of course you want to read more. Full review here.)
Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation – Bamboo
I only wear this shade 2-3 months a year and half of that is mixing it with one shade lighter, Buff. I’ve been using this line of foundation for over two years now and it’s still my favorite! I did a full review a year ago, my skin has since become more oily and acne-prone (especially when using other brands for awhile), and this foundation is still at the top of my list.
Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover
The most gentle yet toughest remover for waterproof mascara. Period. I would use Neutrogena’s, but this is far better on the most difficult mascaras.
Sonia Kashuk Bare Minimum Pressed Powder – Translucent Medium
I’ll admit it…I didn’t finish this one to the bitter end. There was a ring around the outer edge left that was less than 1/4″ wide. But something went wrong with it because the top would cake up and not let any powder transfer to the brush for application. I blame my oily skin and the age of this compact and not the product itself. On the bright side, I cleaned it out entirely, and now Little V has her own “colors” to put on. She’s ecstatic!
NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
Eh…I was rather unimpressed. UDPP, Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer, NYX Eyeshadow Base… they all work better.
e.l.f. Eyebrow Gel
I used to think that brow gel is brow gel. This was okay, but it left my brows crunchy and the brush is one of the spiral kind and not very full. It’s not altogether terrible, but not my favorite.
Pond’s Makeup Remover Wipes
I tried some Pond’s wipes in a sampler once. I remember they had White Tea in them and I remember liking them…this is not the same kind. I find these a bit rough on my skin, but bought them in bulk trying to save money. I’m not repurchasing because I’m determined to find something better.
Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner
Yes please! I have the super-size version of this in my shower right now and can’t wait to get started on the shampoo. I love this conditioner but think I’ll try a different line from Organix next. It is by far the best smelling conditioner I’ve ever used.
Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Step 1
This is a great product, but there are plenty of things at a much lower cost that work just as well.
yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes
These are soft and quite large and are my favorite facial wipes to date. I only wish I could find something cheaper because I go through them so quickly. I’m undecided about repurchasing. Do you have any facial wipes that you simply adore?
For awhile there I thought this post wasn’t going to end. Yikes! I love looking back at everything I’ve used up. These posts really help me critically think about whether or not repurchasing is worth it and what I’m truly looking for in products. I’ll be back with more at a later date, hopefully sooner so there’s less to include in one post!
