As much as I hate being wasteful, I rarely finish a product completely. I get very (very) close but love the first use high of starting a new product too much to stick it out with the oldies. However, plenty of bloggers do “empties” posts and have motivated me to make it through. This has been really tough, especially because I have two powders that have been so-close-it-should-count-even-though-it’s-not-finished for weeks now. Here’s what I did finally finish:
I’ve been using the same brand and formula for twelve years now. Enough said.
Aveeno Positively Nourishing Hydrating Body Wash
The Fig + Shea Butter scent is okay. I used up this one so I could use another scent that came in the pack: Lavender, Chamomile, and Ylang Ylang. Mmmmm…. But to be honest, I’m not as impressed as I wanted to be (even though this is my third bottle of this line) so when I finish the next one I’m hopefully going to move back to using Method body wash (I also use their hand soap, laundry detergent, and all of their household cleaners).
Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover
I’ve long claimed that this works just as well as Sonia Kashuk’s. Well, I’m here today to tell you that it’s not true. On the most stubborn mascaras, go with Sonia Kashuk. If your mascara removes more easily, stick with the cheaper Neutrogena.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub
Smells horrible. Works well. Slightly irritating (indicated by the redness around my nose). I have a second bottle that I barely started, but I picked up something else to try instead to see if I can get the redness to go away. And before you say I didn’t finish this one completely, I couldn’t get the last little bit out. I draw the line at cutting a tube open to finish the cleanser.
Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover
I bought this eons ago but decided I didn’t like it as a face cleanser. But for makeup brushes? It’s fantastic. I’m contemplating buying it again for that reason. But I have two other things to use up first (go me!).
theBalm Time Balm Vanilla Oil-Absorbing Face Moisturizer
Yes. Yes yes yes yes YES! This is amazing. I’ve been using it at night in lieu of a night cream. It hydrates but doesn’t leave me a giant greaseball by morning. The problem? First off, it’s impossible to tell when the product is almost gone. Secondly, it isn’t sold in stores and I have a pretty strict “must be convenient to purchase” policy.
Berkley & Jensen Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes
This is the third pack of thirty that I finished. I bought these in bulk simply to remove the majority of my makeup before cleansing at night. They work. They’re cheap. I found something better ;)
…belongs to Baby D. I was trying to take a quick minute to snap a picture so I could get this post done. Baby D was simply trying to help.
I also finished another Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation in Buff. It’s not pictured because I threw it away instead of stashing it with the other empty packages. Oops!
