Tarte Girl Meets Gloss 5-Piece Maracuja Gloss Collector’s Set

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Package

I was first introduced to Tarte Maracuja glosses by Danielle of BloominBeautyBlog.  The click pen style packaging was a huge draw for me as I often find lip gloss tubes transfer too much product onto the wand.  I also loved the fact that Tarte’s glosses don’t leak in my purse.  Ever have that happen to you?  Finding lightly tinted goo all over a wallet, checkbook, or keys is never fun.  Tarte’s tubes are hassle-free and travel well.

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss

Because I prefer lipsticks to gloss, I hadn’t purchased anymore shades until the Girl Meets Gloss set arrived at Sephora.  I was most excited about the five shades that literally encompass every color family.

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Swatches Sparks / Chic / Preppy / Curious / Bubbly

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Bare Lips

Bare Lips

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Sparks

Sparks is a soft pastel pink with lavender tones.

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Chic

Chic is a neutral shade appropriate for any occasion and reminds me of the Amazonian Clay Blush Exposed for it’s classic nature.

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Preppy

I expected Preppy to be more pigmented like most other deeper glosses, but its magenta tone is still lovely.

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Curious

Curious wears more coral than the swatch appears and contains coral and gold shimmer.  It will work especially well in summer.

Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Bubbly

The nude shade Bubbly is almost invisible next to my NC37 skin and has very fine copper shimmer throughout.

Price:  $36.00

Summary:  While none of the shades in the Tarte Girl Meets Gloss Set are particularly unique, they are all equally essential shades.  The formula is not sticky and imparts a subtle tint of color that works well layered over lip liner for more emphasis.  The packaging is completely mess-free and the shade clearly visible.  This is the perfect set for someone looking to venture into glosses or who want to quickly snag one of each color.

They look rather similar to me. I’m thinking of layering them over a lipstick. But Sparks is so pretty, reminding me of the glossy lips that were so popular in the 90s.

The color is subtle. Very subtle. Which is why I prefer a liner under them to make them easier to see.

So pretty. I actually saw this on Sephora as well and thought about getting it. I rarely ever buy just one lip gloss. I’m more of a set kind of girl.

I’m not much of a gloss girl at all so I’m happy to have a set that gives me all the basics. And if you couldn’t tell, I adore the packaging haha!
