Every makeup wearer needs a natural blush and I spent a lot of time comparing various shades before choosing mine. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed offers me just enough pink to not appear ruddy while still giving me a natural and nude flush. It won out over NARS Douceur which gave more brown than pink and was not flattering on my cheeks.
I love the smoothness when applying Exposed and it isn’t overly pigmented so I can build it up if I need to accentuante my cheeks more. I also like applying this one lightly across my forehead and down my nose for a very balanced and natural skin tone.
Too Faced Cocoa Rose / e.l.f. Mellow Mauve / Tarte Exposed / NARS Madly
Compared to other blushes of similar color, I get the most natural appearance with Tarte Exposed. Too Faced Cocoa Rose is far more cool pink. e.l.f. Mellow Mauve is definitely more mauve and the texture is almost impossible to work with. NARS Madly is a favorite of mine, but the “seashell pink” actually shows up as a nude on me. I’d love to see Madly compared to Exposed on someone with cooler fair skin to see what the similarities are.
I’ve been wearing Tarte Exposed a lot lately while wanting a more natural appearance. Recently, Tiffany of WillWorkForMakeup showed a FOTD on Instagram using (what looked like) Exposed, NARS and God Created the Woman, and lip gloss. It was gorgeous and I feel like the color palette was meant to work together.
Summary: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed offers a very natural flush that works for minimal makeup looks, or to balance a heavy lip or eye. The formula is easy to blend and the compact is sleek, includes a mirror, and is the same color as the blush making it easy to spot among other blushes.
