I often skip out on masks, serums, and toners when I’m short on time. (Read: In summer I have no time.) It wreaks havoc on my skin and I find myself reaching for heavier coverage foundation despite the sweltering heat.
I finally came up with a solution using Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème in Nude that gives me coverage, stays put, and doesn’t make my skin feel heavy.
The pump makes it super convenient to get the right amount of product and a little goes a very long way. The formula is 22% water, making it feel lightweight. It also has 21% pigment while the average foundation has 10-15% pigment. Like I said…a little goes a long way!
I took pictures in June and spent the month of July testing Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème in Nude. Bare faced you can see a few marks, lots of pale freckles, and redness on my nose. The shade Nude will work year round while Olive is an end of summer or fall shade. Here I used Nude.
Applied with a dense brush, I get immediate coverage in one layer. With this application method and level of pigmentation, my skin loses dimension. This is true with all full coverage face products so I am sure to contour, sometimes bronze, and always use blush.
Look at that…complexion perfection in one layer! Because it is summer, I played around with applicators and find that a damp sponge works best. Using a wet applicator does sheer out the product slightly, but I prefer using a thin layer all over and building with a second thin layer only where needed. The foundation becomes undetectable and looks even more natural.
As for the humidity and wear time, I use a silicone based primer with this silicone based foundation and set with powder. The formula can wear up to 24 hours, but I tend to give my face a break after about 10 hours.
So for days when you need full coverage in summer, opt for a pump that gives a precise amount of product, a damp sponge, and thin layers as needed. You won’t regret it!
