Have you seen it? The new Perfecting Translucent Illuminator by Sonia Kashuk is now in Target stores! This delightfully blendable formula adds a touch of luminosity wherever applied. The shimmer is ultra-fine and very subtle. Wear it to highlight key areas of the face or mix a dab with foundation for an all-over glow. The bottle matches her line of foundation and the pump performs identical to the Perfecting Transparent Mattifier. I find the packaging very convenient, mess-free, and easy to use. The only down side is the inability to get every last drop. I’m willing to accept this minor flaw for the quality of Sonia Kashuk formulas.
What Sonia says:
“The shimmery nude illuminator has a translucent texture to add subtle color and reflect light to smooth the skin for a fresh and naturally flawless complexion. The long-wearing, paraben and fragrance-free formula restores and preserves skin’s elasticity with an exclusive blend of natural actives containing Cellintegrity Raspberry Stem Cell Extract and a Youth Preserving Bearberry Complex act. These potent age defense agents protect, repair and prevent premature aging, inflammation and irritation to smooth and brighten skin over time.”
There are two other products I want to compare the Perfecting Translucent Illuminator to. First is the Sonia Kashuk Super Sheer Shimmering Highlighter which is the same liquidity as the new Illuminator. The Highlighter also has larger individual reflective particles than the Illuminator that can be visible in bright sunlight.
Second is the JK Jemma Kidd Mannequin Skin Complexion Enhancer which is meant to be worn as a primer. Mannequin Skin also has the ultra-fine shimmer but runs more rose gold than the champagne of the Illuminator.

I have been unable to get quality lighting for a photo of me wearing the Illuminator, but rest assured that one is on the way. Okay, more than one…I see myself wearing this in many FOTD posts to come!
This has been one of my most anticipated beauty products for Fall 2012 and it doesn’t disappoint. I am deeply impressed with the quality, packaging, and $14.99 price tag. This is a year-round staple and has taken first place is my non-powder highlighters. I am still a huge fan of theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer, but Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Translucent Illuminator is a real contender.
