It’s a week from Valentine’s Day. You know what that means, right? It’s time for liquid liner…EVERYWHERE. I’ve been wondering why winged liquid liner is the thing to do. Does it have something to do with the pin-up look being so iconic? If you have any ideas on where the liquid-liner-for-Valentine’s-Day trend started, let me know below.
Because I felt the need to go against the grain and to do anything but a bombshell look for you all right now, I’m skipping out and offering some pretty pinks instead. I won’t even go so far as to call this a Valentine’s Day look. I’m skipping the whole shebang and heading straight for spring. Don’t believe me? My dress is sleeveless, short, and has a large cut-out in the back. Totally not winter appropriate.
Starting with the eyes, I prepped with Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion then swept Urban Decay Naked from lashline to brow bone. I applied a wash of Urban Decay Liar to the lid, Nooner to the crease with most of the color toward the center, and patted Dust on the center of each lid with a damp brush. The browbone and inner corner of my eyes was brightened with Urban Decay Strange. My upper lashes were lined with Too Faced Perfect Black Orchid and smudged with a heavy amount of Urban Decay Blackheart. I made my eyes look rounder by keeping the thickest part of the line at the center of my eyes. Two coats of Milani Runway Lashes finished off my eyes.
I wanted my skin to be softly glowing without competing with my eyes or lips. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation in Buff created the base. I concealed my undereyes and any spots with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger, then brightened my undereyes with the shade Honey. I set everything with NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder and added Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light to the T-Zone. I went back under my eyes and used the leftover Blackheart along my lower lashes for a touch more emphasis and filled my brows with NARS Bali.
For a look like this I always like to contour my cheek bones. But to keep it soft I use a red or pink toned bronzer. In this case it was Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. Then NARS New Attitude blush gave a freshness to the apples of my cheeks.
Finally for my lips I applied Too Faced In the Buff and topped it off with Urban Decay Naked Lip Junkie Gloss.
Do you find yourself in liquid liner land? Or have you moved on to florals and pinks?
