The moment we’ve all been waiting for…. Noticing results during my Tria Laser Hair Removal journey!!!

Tria Laser Hair Removal 4x Calming Gel

If you’ve been following along, you know that in my last update I felt disappointed at not seeing immediate results. Wanting an overnight miracle was simply unrealistic – I was only 1/3 of the way through the series! After my third round, I thought I noticed the hair thinning out. And after the fourth round it is very obvious that I am seeing results.

I no longer need to shave my underarms daily. This. is. huge. !!!! Sure, to the touch I can feel hair growing back in mid-way through the second day. But I can now shave on a Friday morning and then take a spontaneous trip to the beach on Saturday without needing to take care of my underarms first. It’s so freeing! That might sound a bit over the top, but I’ve always been sensitive about how dark and fast-growing my hair is so I am very pleased at this point.

On the fourth round I decided to up the level of the laser from 2 to 3. This time it was more tolerable, but I also found myself rushing through because it certainly still hurt. Rushing, however, causes the laser’s error signal to buzz (and I did it a. lot. during the fourth session) letting me know that particular contact was not successful. I find the key is to make contact, wait for the positive beep, then pull back, move over the 1/4″, and make contact again. Slowing down while on level 3 was tricky, but the sensation was less painful than during the second session.

I thought I would let you know that I am really appreciating the Tria Smoothstart Calming Gel designed as a pre-laser-hair-removal-session treatment. One came with the device, but I went ahead and purchased another bottle for use as I hope to use the device on my legs. For the first two rounds I applied a small amount of gel to both underarms and did a few more things before I got started with the laser. I noticed that the second underarm was more sensitive and I began to wonder if I applied the gel too early. For rounds three and four I applied to one underarm and then began treatment on that side almost immediately after. When finished, I worked the gel into the skin of my other underarm before continuing with the laser. I found this more effective for keeping my skin comfortable.

Seeing results is very encouraging and I hope to find the higher settings more tolerable now.
