Admission: I want everything in this color N-O-W.
An “amber pink blush with silver pearls,” the new Unlawful blush from the NARS Fall 2014 Night Caller collection is going to be a hot product for me this fall. The amber tone is spot on gorgeous as is the illuminating satin finish.
Despite my original thinking, Unlawful is a very unique shade. I tried it next to Madly, and it is warmer and more pink. It is darker and warmer than Deep Throat. Unlawful’s finish is also more illuminating than both (compared here). And unlike any other blush I own, it has silver glitter. Yes, glitter.
We all know that Glitter and I don’t have the fondest history together. But Unlawful’s silver sparkle is tough to see. You either need to be very close, or in exactly the right light.
Is glitter a deal breaker for me? Not this time. Mainly because the blush color itself has me wanting to wear monochromatic makeup for all of fall. (Okay, I’ll slip in a bit of the new Night Bird Eyeliner.) And also because I find that applying with a fluffier blush brush deposits less of the glitter onto my cheeks.
I did another mix-and-match number on my lip color to hone in on the right shade of pink. It’s almost there. But I really do need an amber pink lip color. Any suggestions?
And will you be checking out Night Caller for NARS 2014?
Availability: NARS, and August 1 at Sephora, Nordstrom
Summary: NARS Unlawful blush is a warm amber pink with silver glitter. It is deep enough and pigmented enough for my tanned complexion and the finish offers a beautiful illumination. Unlawful is especially flattering for warm skin and will complement a fall smoky eye well.
