Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner – I’m not sure when this product first got my attention, but I think it was around two years ago. I never splurged for it as I wasn’t sure how well a cleansing conditioner would actually work. I also never seem to hear about Wen products. After trying Macadamia Oil Cleansing Conditioner recently, I loved the idea of a 2-in-1 product for curly hair days. At my recent haircut, my stylist Annie mentioned that this one does wonder for her curls.
Nexxus Pro Mend Smoothing Shine Serum – Hair oils tend to weigh my hair down or lessen the time I can go between washes. But I do feel like my ends benefit from one on straight hair days and my curls appreciate the smoothing when I don’t blow-dry. I’ve had a fantastic experience with Nexxus Pro-Mend heat spray and highly recommend it. I’m also currently enjoying their Frizz Defy Shampoo and Conditioner. So when I looked into their products beneficial for curls, I was intrigued by this smoothing serum.
Paul Mitchell Twirl Around – Another recommendation from Annie. I told her that when I don’t blow dry, my hair needs some smoothing. Since I don’t like drying my curls they always end up floofy. Annie said start by using the proper in-shower product (the Wen) then add Twirl around for definition. And if really necessary, finish with an oil.
With Spring finally arrived, my mind is already concerned with humidity. Here’s hoping I can learn about and tame my curly hair in time for summer. Read more about my new hair here.
