My Makeup Geek palette is officially overflowing! By one eyeshadow, but still :)
For this installment of eyeshadows, I focused on colors that I didn’t have (the yellows and pinks) as well as basic nudes and a highlight to round out my palette. I love eyeshadow palettes, but often I wish a shade or two could be swapped with others from the same brand to better meet my own tastes. All 28 MUG eyeshadows together (more here and here) are now a dream palette of shades I’ve chosen from every color – exactly what I love about Makeup Geek marketing.
How gorgeous are those pinks and yellows? And so smoothly pigmented! I love that my summer tan doesn’t stop such fun colors from showing on my skin.
For kicks and giggles I decided to try the blend-out-with-multiple-colors method and I used almost every new color on my lids. A bit much, but it was still fun to do. The real experiment was using Yellow Brick Road as the outermost color on my lids instead of on the inner corners (like I did here) and going in reverse with dark to light instead of the typical light to dark. But I wound up adding Shimma Shimma as an inner corner highlight anyway. I chose Cupcake as a base for the inner 2/3 of my mobile lid and swept Cinderella over it. Then Glamorous and Gold Digger became the transition colors to work toward Yellow Brick Road.
You can see my thoughts on three Makeup Geek blushes here and be sure to stay tuned…I have my (first ever and utterly gorgeous) pigment swatches on the way!
Do you ever wear pink eyeshadows? What is your favorite color pairing right now? And what do you think of the new Vegas Lights palette?
