I've Got the Blues With Radiant Orchid

Radiant Orchid is a pretty enough color.  It’s a lovely choice for spring with just enough red, pink, and purple to be unique. It’s not quite a magenta, not quite a red-violet.  Rather hard to define, I’ve seen suggested products ranging from fuchsia to purple.  And while Radiant Orchid works on it’s own, I wanted to make it stand out more.  I wanted it to have more pizazz.  So I added blue.

Navy blue gives Radiant Orchid the extra oomph I’m craving and I see it working as a year round choice.  I kept the look simple with winged NARS Ubangi Eye Paint and chose three lip colors and finishes because I like to play for purposes of my navy + orchid research.  The result makes Radiant Orchid more striking regardless of whether the shade leans purple or plum, light or deep.

I see an intense smoky eye with Ubangi as a base in fall.  But as the weather warms I’ll stick to a line.  A matte alternative is Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner in Perfect Navy that works for tightlining or alongside a shimmering eyeshadow.

What are your thoughts on making Radiant Orchid pop?
