Radiant Orchid is a pretty enough color. It’s a lovely choice for spring with just enough red, pink, and purple to be unique. It’s not quite a magenta, not quite a red-violet. Rather hard to define, I’ve seen suggested products ranging from fuchsia to purple. And while Radiant Orchid works on it’s own, I wanted to make it stand out more. I wanted it to have more pizazz. So I added blue.
Navy blue gives Radiant Orchid the extra oomph I’m craving and I see it working as a year round choice. I kept the look simple with winged NARS Ubangi Eye Paint and chose three lip colors and finishes
because I like to play for purposes of my navy + orchid research. The result makes Radiant Orchid more striking regardless of whether the shade leans purple or plum, light or deep.
Julep Nail Color in Millie
Buxom Big and Healthy Lipstick in Acapulco
Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color in Violetta
Topshop Gloss Ink in Cruel
I see an intense smoky eye with Ubangi as a base in fall. But as the weather warms I’ll stick to a line. A matte alternative is Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner in Perfect Navy that works for tightlining or alongside a shimmering eyeshadow.
