If you watched my August Favorites video, you’ve been expecting this.  INGLOT False Lash Effect Mascara is ticking most of the boxes in my rather lengthy list of mascara requirements.

First up, I like black lashes.  Not soft, not dull, and certainly not brown.  Check!

I then require something with volume.  Check!  A little bit of length never hurts either.  Check!

Do I really need to mention separation?  Check!  I swear…even the clumpy-spider-lashes-are-a-thing advertisers don’t believe what they’re selling.

Non-waterproof.  Check!  Yes, I meant non-waterproof.  I’m tired of waiting so long for my mascara to break down when I remove it.  I also have a hunch that waterproof mascaras aren’t particularly nourishing for lashes.  If hydration is good and waterproof locks out moisture, then waterproof might be kind of damaging too….  I of course have no scientific facts on this, but it’s something my beauty junkie mind has been mulling over lately.  False Lash Effect is smudge-proof though and so far this summer it has lived up to the name.

Curling.  … … ……….  No check.  However – and this is a really big however – I curl first, then apply mascara and still have some lift when I’m done.  No droopy saggy lashes here.  I have yet to meet a non-waterproof mascara that manages to keep my eyelashes upbeat and perky, but INGLOT False Lash Effect Mascara does a darn good job of not letting them fall altogether.

One important thing to note is the application of False Lash Effect.  I find it applies best when I don’t let the mascara dry between layers.  I remove the wand from the tube, run the brush against the top to remove excess product, apply generously to my lashes, reload and remove, then apply some more.  I get the most separation this way and don’t find my lashes clumping.

Do you see the difference between my eyes above?  The mascara dried between coats on the left (the woes of photographing).  Doesn’t it look amazing on the right?

While I have a couple more mascaras on my testing list, I’m a big fan of INGLOT False Lash Effect (especially at only $13.00) and it is at the top of my list when I run out.  What mascara are you currently loving?
