I Overslept: The Two Product Face

There are so many tags out there for the “five product face” or the “three minute face.” And while those are fun in the hypothetical world, let’s get real.  Let’s talk the bare essentials.  The oh-my-gosh-it’s-an-hour-past-my-alarm-and-I’m-just-waking-up products.  Now, I’m not opposed to going out into the world with a naked face.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and I do it often.  But there are times (like an event I had at my daughter’s school this morning) where I’d like to look like I’m not just walking off the set of a new zombie thriller.  Here I’ve turned my “quick face” into a “fast and furious” face.

Two Product Face

As I didn’t have time to wash, I used a cotton round soaked in exfoliating toner and ran it across my face and  neck.  I massaged in my fastest absorbing moisturizer and half my usual amount of eye cream.  No skipping that step altogether for me, but I also didn’t have time to let it sink in.  A quick run of a brush through my hair and a ton of Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to refresh.

Then I headed straight to my makeup table.  I used NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard under my eyes, on my lids, and on any redness.  This choice required the bit of eye cream, but eliminated the need for setting powder as other concealers might need.  Then I filled my brows with NARS Eyeshadow in Bali.  And to add just a touch of oomph to my lashes (no time for mascara!), I quickly pressed Bali into the base of my lashes with the same brush.

Certainly I wanted to add brightener under my eyes, some mascara and a hint of blush, but time was of the essence.  And you know what? No one even noticed that I had an hour less than usual to shower and get dressed.

What are your ermahgerd, look at the time! products?

Mascara and Touche Eclat (applied under eyes and over cheekbones) are my main 2 if I’ve overslept and look a mess – though I’m always fairly painstaking in my mascara application so that slows me down.

Mascara and concealer used to be my top two. But lately my brows have been more of a necessity. Great idea to do a brightening and covering product!

Concealer and mascara! I think they would make anyone look instantly more awake.

Do you go for the concealer, mascara, lipstick combo?

Mascara would have helped, but that required another two minutes!

Wow! 2 product time crunch face! You are throwin’ down the gauntlet, Alison! I’d have to go with Clarins BB Cream (helps me skip the moisturizer step!) and a quick dusting of my favorite blush of the moment (currently, it’s Benefit Dallas). I sometimes skip mascara so it wouldn’t wig anyone out if they saw me without it! Or at least I hope I wouldn’t be mistaken as a Walking Dead extra. I am in Georgia, after all, which is where they film…maybe I should rethink this whole mascara thing. ;)

Hahaha, you know I love mascara. BUT when I woke up and saw the time it was a huge “whoa” with like negative ten minutes to get ready. Later in the day I realized it was post-worthy because I’ve never had such little time to get ready when I really needed to do SOMEthing. Apparently instinct even feeds my brow obsession now :)

I do a bright but sheer lip colour (actually Becca’s Beach Tint in Dragonfruit does nicely for lips and cheeks) and my brows (Hourglass Arch Brow scultping pencil in Soft Brunette. I wear glasses with striking frames, so for the eyes I think: Laterrrr…
