I’m back with a bunch more empties and two products that are mostly used up, but need to be thrown out.

(left to right)

Bed Head Self Absorbed Shampoo:  The shampoo/conditioner didn’t weigh down my fine hair and the size of the bottle lasted forever (granted my hair was rather short).  I’m trying out some more natural products instead of repurchasing.

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation Primer:  At first, it worked really well.  In conjunction with an oil mattifier, my makeup stayed in place and I was oil-free for 8 hours.  But this summer I started getting cystic acne.  I stopped using the primer and the acne went away.  When I used the primer for 2+ days in a row, the acne came back.  Despite having less than 1/4 of the tube left, I’m not finishing it and I definitely won’t be repurchasing.  Has anyone else had this problem with a primer??

Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara:  If this stuff didn’t drop my curl or if they made it in a waterproof formula, this would be my mascara of choice.  The separation and volume it gives my lashes is spectacular! And the price is very reasonable.

Benefit badGAL Waterproof Mascara:  An awesome mascara second only to MUFE Aqua Smoky Lash.

theBalm Talm Balm Cranberry White Tea Invigorating Eye Cream:  I love this stuff.  I’ve been using eye cream for six years never expecting it to do anything but prevent aging.  Lo and behold, when I started using this I noticed tighter skin on my upper lid and brow bone.  Who knew?  I made it about 2/3 of the way through this jar in about seven or eight months.  Around a month ago I noticed my eyes were red.  I had a hunch that the product had gone bad (POA 6 months) so I switched to a new one and the redness went away.  Love this product, but won’t repurchase.  It needs to be half the amount and go into a pump bottle if I’m going to finish it before it expires.

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette:  This is the original version with lighter concealer shades.  As with every original palette I’ve owned, I only finished the darker concealer shade.    I’m tossing this one, but bought the Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette II when it was released and keep that one in my purse for touch-ups.  I love that there’s a darker version now.

Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Transparent Mattifier:  I’m not repurchasing (for now) because I want to use less products on my skin.  I’m trying to go mattifier-free but it’s definitely not easy.

Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover:  The best I can get from a drugstore.  I tried MUFE Sens’eyes at Sephora to remove UD 24/7 Glide-On swatches and was mega-impressed.  Anyone out there use it??

Pond’s Facial Wipes:  I’m officially using Yes to Cucumber Wipes now and adore them.

Burt’s Bees Tomato Basil Toner:  Not too shabby.  It did help keep my skin clear when I ran out of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil toner.

theBalm Time Balm Kiwi Scrub:  It’s okay.  If you’re looking for a gentle exfoliator, this is hands-down the way to go.  I need something with a little more oomph.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Moisturizer:  This keeps me from getting oily and I love that.  But I need the tiniest bit more moisture so I’m trying their Seaweed line.

theBalm Time Balm Sunflower Skin Clarifier:  I’m not much a fan.  It takes too long for my skin to dry before I can use moisturizer and it doesn’t clean my pores out very well.  This is meant for combination skin, but I think it would work better on more normal skin in the T-zone.

Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer:  This works as well as UD Primer Potion.  The first problem is that it comes in a tube with a wand.  The second problem is that there is only .17 oz in the tube, some of which you can never get to.  Lastly, it’s not widely available.  So instead of buying Palladio’s for $47/oz, I’m going to stick with UD for $54/oz.

Phew, that was a lot!  Some of these have been sitting around for a long time and some were half-finished before I picked them up again.  It’s great to unload all of this from my drawer, baskets and cabinet.  I feel a “purging of the unused” coming on for my cosmetics now.  It’s like spring cleaning…in October!
