I often get comments on my hair – both online and in my real life. This is probably because I keep it so short, but there’s also been a fascination with the fact that I cut my own hair. This has lead me to my “Hair Story” series. And, like any good beauty routine, this story begins with taking care of what I’m working with.
Note: I have fine hair, but a lot of it. These products work well for my texture and density.
Tigi Bed Head Self-Absorbed Mega Nutrient Shampoo: This is my second bottle of this shampoo. It does a fantastic job of cleaning my hair without making it feel stripped. I use one pump, lather up, wait 2 minutes, and rinse in my normal shower water temperature. If I used a lot of styling products I might lather, rinse, lather, wait, and rinse. I am left with candy orange scented hair.
Organix Renewing Moroccan Oil Conditioner: I adore this line. I took a break from the Bed Head Shampoo to try the Organix shampoo with the conditioner. I wanted the full affect and it was brilliant. Back to the conditioner… My sense of smell is sensitive yet the scent isn’t overwhelming. It’s a perfectly delicate floral perfume scent that lingers even after my hair is dry. I can only imagine how indulgent it would be on someone with longer hair who would enjoy it every time their hair moved!
My favorite things about this conditioner are the heat styling and UV protection (I live in Florida, y’all!), and that it deliver a lot of moisture without weighing down my hair. And the shine. Oh, the shine! As my hair grows, I’m sure I’ll appreciate the softness it delivers too.
Aussie Moist 3-Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner: While my hair isn’t damaged, it is normal-to-dry. Once a week after shampooing, I leave 3-Minute Miracle in my hair for five minutes before rinsing. It’s amazing how much easier it is to style my hair when it’s fully hydrated.
My best tip: Always remember to rinse hair in cold water, not hot! It makes a world of difference. And if you don’t believe me, check out Danielle’s (a.k.a. Rapunzel) hair on Bloomin Beauty Blog. She’s a regular to color-treatment, but also rinses cold and has the most gorgeous hair.
Stay tuned for more of my “Hair Story” in the upcoming weeks. You can expect to see my styling products, techniques and even a picture-heavy post on how I cut my hair.
