You likely don’t remember the first (now ancient) version of A Few of My Favorite Things, but I always had the intention of doing more. The thing is, fickle as I am, I don’t stick to one product or group of products long enough to keep that a true series. This time around I’ve had some major appreciation for product categories by a handful of brands, so over a year later, here I am with round two.
Start with the eyes in the event of fall-out for this look because it uses loose pigment. Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance followed by a light sweeping of Makeup Geek Creme Brulee eyeshadow from the lashes up to (but not on) the browbone. Apply Hipster to the mobile lid, then use a pencil brush to shape Taupe Notch on the outer 1/3 of the lid and crease making a boomerang (not a V) shape. Add a touch of NARS Pandora II just to the outer corner, this time in a tiny V. Top off the mobile lid with Makeup Geek Nightlife Pigment applied dry. After the rest of the face is done, come back and line upper and lower waterlines with Too Faced Perfect Black Orchid. Use a small smudge brush to apply Black Orchid above the upper lashes on only the outer half of the eye. Run Makeup Geek Taupe Notch heavily under the lower lashes. Load up the lashes with INGLOT False Lash Effect Mascara.
Use hands to smooth NARS Pro-Prime Pore Refining Primer over the skin and follow with a Real Techniques Stipling Blush and NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Stromboli, taking care to really buff it into the skin. Cover those undereye circles and Skittles-induced blemish marks with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers in Ginger and Custard. Brighten up at the inner corners with Eve Lom Light Illusion in Wheat. Use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to contour the top of the forehead, under the tip of the nose, and under the cheekbones with Becca Lowlight Sculpting Perfector and set everything with the Large Powder Brush from OCC and NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder. Add NARS Deep Throat blush to the outer 2/3 of the cheeks.
Fill and begin shaping brows with Senna Cosmetics Form-A-Brow Kit in Neutral and Brow Pro 40 brush. Then draw hairs in any sparse areas with Sketch-A-Brow Ash Brown and set with Anastasia Brow Gel in Espresso.
Prep the lips very lightly with Eve Lom Kiss Mix, then mix equal parts Vintage and Hoochie OCC Lip Tars and apply with Precision Lip Brush.
Smile and breathe a sigh of relief for self-expression and doing what you love.
