There has been so much sick at the M house lately.  So much sick.  Myself included and we all know that when mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.  The good news is that everyone is on the up and up.  I even had a craving to heat up some frozen waffles – the way my body always tells me it’s ready to feel better – and we took a walk to pick up my daughter from school today.  AND I wore makeup.

Perhaps my favorite thing about makeup is that I can fake it till I make it.  On the gloomiest of days, in the grouchiest of moods, or even when under the weather, makeup gives me a chance to at least look pulled together.  And eventually looking pulled together let’s me feel pulled together.

After sweats, the couch, and countless cups of tea over two days (my 2-year-old has mastered the Keurig to make me hot beverages, huzzah!), my face was dying for some hydration.  After washing and loading up on Origins Plantscription Eye Cream, I went straight to my vanity.  First up was NARS Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz (Medium 1) for radiance, hydration, color, and SPF in one.  I used NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger and Honey to brighten up the dehydrated and zombie-like circles I have going on.  My brows were filled with NARS Eyeshadow in Bali and my forehead and nose were very lightly set with NARS Light Reflecting Powder.  A coat of Wet N Wild Fergie Turn Up the Volume Mascara and Hourglass Radiant Light and Incandescent Light on the eyes.  Then Stila Peony Convertible Color on the cheeks with Buxom Divine Goddess Luminzer above for even more glow.  My lips were ready for something more than lip balm so I swiped on Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Flirt to finish things up.

I’m still popping Cinnamon Altoids to clear my sinuses (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it), but at least I look and feel ready to get off the couch.
