Triple Threat Facial Products

After a particularly busy week, I was finally able to make some time for myself.  The first thing on the agenda was to treat my skin.  My method?  Cover all the bases.

Purge:  With clean skin, work up a sweat.  I hopped on the treadmill and let the exertion and sweat purge my pores.

Tarte Detoxify Mask

Detox:  After a steamy shower that opened my pores and a face wash to cleanse away impurities, I used the Tarte Double Detox Mask.  I have large pores on my nose and inner cheeks.  My nose sees a lot of blackheads despite proper daily skin care.  So I use a detox mask 1-2 times a week to clean things out.  To be truthful, I would need to use Tarte Double Detox at least three times a week to be completely problem-free, but a Vitamin C cleanser and the next step are helping that situation more than the clay mask alone.  I apply Double Detox to damp skin and while I could massage it into my skin for a minute, I skipped that and left the exfoliation to the pro in the next step.  After five minutes, I removed the dried clay with a warm wet washcloth.

Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask

Exfoliate:  The Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask has recreated my skin.  I massage a small amount onto damp skin for a minute allowing the volcanic ash to buff away dead skin cells.  Then I let it sit for five minutes so the pineapple enzyme and kojic acid can lighten and brighten my skin.  I remove it after 5 minutes with the same washcloth and moderately warm water.  The next day I always notice major improvement in any dark acne scarring.  This time, the marks are gone!  I should also mention that despite it being “that week of the month,” my typical cystic acne is nowhere to be seen.  The difference? This mask and the Vitamin C wash.

The Body Shop Honey and Oatmeal Mask

Nourish:  Honey is known for hydrating and skin nourishing abilities and oats soothe skin.  So for the final step of my at-home facial I use The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask.  Again, I skip the scrub part.  With a generous layer spread over my skin, I feel a mild tingle for a few minutes.  At the 5 minute mark, I remove it with hot water and a washcloth.

To remove any residue and to treat with a softening agent, I use a cotton round soaked in The Body Shop Nutriganics toner and gently swipe it to the sides and downward on my face.  The finishing touch is Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Intense Hydration Night Cream for lightweight but thorough moisturizing.

Relax:  I find caring for my skin very relaxing, even more so with a beautifully scented candle like K. Hall Designs Peony candle.

This is my dream team of face masks.  I went through the routine yesterday afternoon, left my skin bare for the remainder of the day and skipped my regular nighttime regimen.  This morning I woke to glowing clear skin.
