Anyone else addicted to black and gold lately?  Such a huge trend that I can’t get enough of.  From eyeliner and eyeshadow, to shoes, to my new handbag, I want everything black and gold.  And with New Year’s Eve just around the corner I thought it perfect timing to put together a look.

Black and Gold and Glowing Close Up

I love a good antique gold and theBalm All About Alex fits the bill.  First I applied Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion for longevity, then a base of NARS Aigle Noir Soft Touch Shadow Pencil for richer color and added sprakle.  After tightlining with Too Faced Perfect Eyes Perfect Black and running it along the outer 1/3 of my waterline, I focused a small amount of NARS Night Clubbing along the upper and lower lashlines toward the outer corners of my eyes.  I then went back with All About Alex and smudged it along my entire lower lashline. My brows are filled with NARS Bali, set with Anastasia Brow Gel in Espresso, and I used Anastasia Brow Duality in Shell under and above my brow as well as at the inner corners of my eyes to brighten things up.

Black and Gold and Glowing Eyes

I wanted my skin to look flawless and glowing.  After prepping with Arbonne Makeup Primer*, I buffed Kett Cosmetics Fixx Creme O3 into my skin for a natural finish.  My undereyes and spots were concealed with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard and I brightened my eyes with Honey.  Everything was set with NARS Light Reflecting Powder before I added Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light over my cheeks and Dim Light in my T-zone.  To add some contour I applied the matte theBalm Bahama Mama under my cheekbones and across the top of my forehead.  My cheeks were finished off with Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Peaceful for the ultimate glow.

After giving everything a quick spritz of Urban Decay All-Nighter, I brushed Milani Runway Lashes Mascara through my lashes and applied my current favorite lip combo – Sonia Kashuk Pinky Beige Lip Color with Buxom Lip Polish in Tonya.

For going out you could always add winged liner or false lashes to make more of an impact but I settled on a softer and smokier look this time.  What do you think?

How have you been sporting the black and gold trend?  Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve?
