Fuchsia much? I can’t even begin to tell you how happy the Aveda Rare Bloom collection for Spring 2015 makes me. It’s just what I needed in my wear-it-to-work-neutral-face slump to pick up the pace on a casual day. I’ve been devoting every spare minute to struggling with my three year old so blogging and my passion for makeup have been on the back burner. Anyone who utters the phrase “terrible twos” has clearly never been around a three (and a half) year old. It ain’t easy!
Aveda’s collection for this season is oh-so-right in so many ways. I adore the combination of colors and am particularly fond of the bold lip and semi-subtle eye that also has a touch of color. The best part is that the products I received are wearable on even in jeans and a t-shirt.
To achieve the look I am wearing, start with Rose Gold eye color on the lid and brushed lightly on the brow one for that natural-but-just-a-touch-different color. Use a small blending brush to apply Plumeria onto the outer corner of the lid and brush in a C into the outer half of the crease, then smudge Plumeria under the lower lashes. Add a cool matte brown liner to the waterlines and outer half of the upper lashes. Pile on Aveda Mosscara in Earth. Line and fill the lips with Nourish-Mint Lip Liner in Dragon Fruit and apply Nourish-Mint Smoothing Lip Color in Magenta Berry. Complete the makeup with a natural tan-rose blush and cool ash brown brow pencil.
My hair was looking a little flat, but didn’t need a wash and dry. To bring some life back to my locks I worked Aveda Light Elements Texturizing Creme between my hands and tousled it evenly through my straightened hair. It’s lightweight, buildable, and doesn’t leave my hair weighed down or greasy. Total love.
Aveda Rare Bloom put a little spring in my step (bah dum dum) and I’m feeling a lot perkier rocking a bold pout with my favorite gray tee.
