Problem skin happens to all of us.  Maybe it’s from working too hard.  Maybe it happens monthly.  Or maybe it’s an ongoing issue.  Earlier this month I was suffering from purple-brown scars along my cheeks, forehead, and chin that showed the remnants of seemingly unstoppable breakouts I recently suffered.  They were dark enough that I couldn’t keep them fully hidden and without constantly touching up, even a full-coverage concealer couldn’t match their strength.  A side effect of olive skin, I guess.  All I could think was that there had to be a way to speed up the healing and get rid of the discoloration.

It was during New York Fashion Week that I learned of celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas who says, “Sleepless nights, poor diets, lots of coffee and tons of stress make it hard for designers to feel good about taking their bow at the end of the show, so they come to me for a quick fix.”

Um…I can check all of those things on my list.  Maybe I can go to fashion week? ;)  Designers Mara Hoffman, Zac Posen, Norma Kamali, and Pamela Love prep for Fashion Week by getting a facial from Joanna, and Rebecca Minkoff stops in when the week is over.

A facial is the fastest way I know to treat skin in a big way.  But for those of us not in New York, Joanna offers a skin care line.

Joanna Vargas Vitamin C Face Wash and Exfoliating Mask

When I was contacted about trying Joanna Vargas Skin Care, there were two products that immediately stuck out…Vitamin C Face Wash and the Exfoliating Mask.  The face wash makes it easy to keep my skin balanced, treat pores and help clear up my complexion.  A little bit goes a long way and it leaves the skin glowing and clear.

The mask has given my skin the kick start I wanted.  It is a very thin consistency and is a welcome change from heavier formulas.  It is first used as a scrub, then left on the skin for five minutes before removing.  After two uses (Wednesday and Saturday), my scarring is now a light pink color and is easily covered.  I’m certain it will be gone after only one or two more  treatments.

A quick fix?  I’d say so.  At home?  Even better.  I look forward to seeing what the face wash and mask do for my skin as it continues to clear up.
