A Classic Christmas With Red and Gold

Saturday was the big day…Mr. M’s office holiday party.  I already shared the makeup look I planned, but I want to give a break down of the products I used as well as show off my outfit for the evening.  We had a great time with some of Mr. M’s co-workers, the food was tasty, and the desserts tastier. We didn’t win any of the  prizes, but there were some very happy people that evening.   Three cruises (and extra paid time off), nine 55″ TVs, Bose headphones and sound systems, iPads and more were raffled off!  The whole evening was a fantastic way for the company to thank its many employees.

I have a much less formal Christmas party this upcoming Saturday, and I will likely repeat the makeup.  It’s just too festive to only wear once!

Classic Christmas With Red and Gold Eyes

Starting with the eyes, I used theBalm Meet Matt(e) Smith from lashline to eyebrow.  Above the crease and to the browbone I swept Matt Ramirez back and forth then added a small amount of NARS Bengali just above the crease for extra definition.  This time around I used a small shader brush and Tarte Waterproof Clay Eyeliner in Black to create a winged eyeliner (try this trick) then added a thin line of NARS Eye Paint in Iskandar to give it some holiday sparkle.  Anastasia Brow Duality in Lace highlighted the inner corners of my eyes as well as the waterline (I have no idea if that is safe to do!).  I thightlined with Too Faced Perfect Eyes Perfect Black, curled my lashes, and applied two coats of NARS Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara.  To add drama, I wore Ardell 301 half lashes.

For picture-perfect foundation I mixed Kett Cosmetics Fixx Creme in O3 and N3, concealed with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger and brightened with Honey before setting everything with Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder.  Buxom bronzer in Tahiti gave me a contour with glow and NARS Seduction blush added a festive flush.  I prepped my lips by lining and filling with NYX Red lip liner then wore Too Faced Stiletto Red lipstick.

On my nails and toes I wore China Glaze Long Kiss – the most perfect holiday red nail color!  My dress was Calvin Klein (thanks to my helpful fashionistas on Instagram!), the shoes Jessica Simpson, bracelets Forever 21, and earrings from Target.  This picture was taken at the end of the night and there was some craaaazy fog after the party when we walked back to the car.  So my flippy-turned-cute ‘do became frizz-o-rama, but you get the idea.

Classic Christmas With Red and Gold Closeup

There haven’t been many reviews up recently and I do hope you’ll forgive me.  I’m in more of a playing mood than a critiquing one lately, but I did pick up a few things last week that I hope to review later this month.  It’s also time to start looking for Spring releases so I can plan out what I’ll be buying.  I already caught a glimpse of some new La Cremes from Too Faced and have two of the shades on my list.  Still a favorite formula!

Have you started attending holiday parties this year?  What is your favorite part of them?

Perfection! Even at the end of the night, you look fantastic(I’s not seeing any frizz). I’m glad you had fun and will be using the look again. I’ll bet your hubs was just floored by your glam and super proud to have you on his arm. BTW what did you use to do brows? Love the entire look- red carpet worthy!

You are such a sweetheart <3 For this look I used Tarte emphasEYES brow pencil in Medium Brown to fill and Anastasia Espresso Brow Gel to define and set. I've been loving the combo and only switch it up for NARS Bali when I want a bit of a softer look.

You look great! This look is timeless. I’ve been enjoying your “playing” looks as much as (or more than) reviews, because I’m being a really good reformed buying junkie and it’s inspiring to see lots of wearable looks :) I want to do more playing and less buying!

Ugh. I’m trying to lay off the buying. It’s not going very well. Although I did start a blog sale so yay, me! Lol. Hopefully I can keep up the inspiration to do more looks to encourage everyone else who is in the same boat :)

Yay, blog sale! Go Alison! I tabulated it diligently this year and found I spent $2000-ish on beauty products, down from about $3000-ish last year. That was way too much work (lol), but every little thing you resist counts :) And I consider products I sell off as credited back to the total. Best of luck to you!

You look so statuesque here! I am very jealous of your height hahah Glad you chose the Too Faced Red after all.

I used to hate my height because I was “tall” early. I’m only 5’7″, but now I love heels to make me even taller :) I think Stiletto Red was a total win for this look. Much more festive!

You look so beautiful! Mr. M is lucky :) I love the gold touch, NARS eye paints are so great.

NARS Eye Paints are *addictive*! :)

You look gorgeous! What a fun Christmas party! My dad’s company used to do giveaways at their Christmas parties when I was a kid and they were so much fun! I remember winning a purse one year! I love the makeup look and the outfit, too. I’m 5″7′ as well and I love wearing heels and being extra tall sometimes!

I think it is so fantastic for companies to give back to their employees. Mr. M’s does a great job year round. It’s nice they include spouses (+1’s) for the holidays. I wish my shoes were another inch taller. My feet would have hurt by the end of the night, but the shoes (and my height!)would have been perfect ;)
